We Made It!!
Monday, October 25
We finally made it to Punta Gorda Belize last night! Celia and Paul came to pick us up at the air strip and took Haley and I to Elena's house where we are staying, with three other girls. This is just right down the street from their house where Andrea and Daisy are staying. I got my room settled at Elena's. It is up tall stairs, and is a small room with concrete walls and ceiling. There is a window with a great view of a palm tree. AFter we ate dinner we all met over at Celia's where we talked about our school placements and safety and other things.

We woke up today about 7am to roosters and a man weedwacking in his underwear right outside our windows. The weather is gorgeous and hot! At 930 we went kayaking down the Belize river in the jungle and it was amazing!! We picked these nut things call...pocoboy....and bit off the top, pulled out this really hairs seed or pit, and sucked on it! It tasted sweet and citrisy! After this we went out to a pier and jumped in the ocean to swim a bit. After a quick shower, I am off to see my school and meet my class and teacher.

In Dallas 10-24-10
Daisy, Haley, Andrea, and I are all stuck in Dallas because hurricane Richard is hitting the the coast of Belize! Our flight to Belize city has been cancelled due to then weather, so we will stay the night in Dallas and fly to Miami tomorrow morning at 5:45 am. Then we will hope to make our connecting flight to Belize city from there. Until then we are trying to make the most of our stay Dallas. We visited the all star lounge at then Sharaton Inn to grab some food and watch the Vikings Packers game. We hope the weather improves tomorrow!
